Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Your email address, and a securely hashed password (or your Google profile info if you sign in with Google)
• Reference video links you paste, or video files you upload directly
• The scripts Scriptforge generates for you
• Basic billing information, handled directly by Stripe — we don’t see or store your card details ourselves
• Your IP address and a device identifier cookie, used only to prevent abuse (like creating many accounts to bypass free-plan limits)

How reference videos are handled

When you paste a video link or upload a file, that video is fetched or read and sent to Google’s Gemini API to analyze its structure and generate your script, subject to Google’s own API terms. A copy of the video is cached temporarily on our servers so that regenerating a script or asking for changes doesn’t require re-fetching the video every time. This cached copy isn’t shared with anyone beyond what’s needed to generate your script, and isn’t kept as a permanent part of your account — only the generated script text is stored long-term.

Why we collect it

To run the actual service: generate and store your scripts, verify your account by email, process payments for paid plans, and prevent abuse of the free plan. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it with advertisers.

Who we share it with

• Google — to analyze reference videos and generate scripts (Gemini API), and for Google sign-in / Google Docs export if you use those features
• Stripe — to process payments for paid plans
• Resend — to send account verification emails

We don’t share your data with anyone else except where required by law.

Google Docs export

If you use the “Export to Docs” feature, you’ll be asked to grant a narrow, one-time Google permission that only lets Scriptforge create a new document in your Drive — it can’t see or access any other files in your Google account. This permission isn’t stored after the export completes.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in, and a device cookie used only to help prevent signup abuse. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your data, your control

You can download a copy of your account data and scripts anytime from your account settings. You can delete your account at any time, which removes your account and scripts from our systems.

Security

Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text. We use reasonable technical safeguards to protect your data, though no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

Scriptforge isn’t intended for anyone under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we’ll make a reasonable effort to let you know, such as by email or an in-app notice.
